There are so many ways to do jerk. Some processes can introduce additional distinct flavour to your food. We all love food cooked over wood, charcoal and over open flames but your oven can be quite effective too. Here is how..

Ingredients

Instructions

Marinate🔪
  1. Wash and Dab chicken with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.

  2. Optional: Use a small knife to puncture the meat. This will allow the spice to penetrate to the bone

  3. Combine Grants Gourmet Jerk Seasoning with Chicken in a zip lock bag. The more you add the more intense the flavour and heat.

  4. Thoroughly mix in the seasoning with the chicken making sure to cover all surfaces.

  5. Marinate Chicken for at least 1/2 hr or longer in the bottom of the fridge.

Cook 🔥
  1. Set oven to Lo-Broil and preheat to temperature

  2. Use a bake pan with a rack to allow drainage away from the meat

  3. Coat the cooking surface of the pan with cooking oil or spray depending on the type of pan you are using.

  4. Place chicken pieces on the pan and leave uncovered.

  5. Place the uncovered chicken in the oven on the middle rack

  6. After 20-25 minutes flip or turn chicken pieces onto the other sides to get even browning.

  7. Cook for another 20 to 25 minutes or until the chicken reaches 165°F

Enjoy! 😃
  1. Allow the chicken to rest and serve with your favorite sides or rice and peas.

Your outcome should be a crispy chicken that is juicy and packed with jerk flavour. Bet you can't just eat one.
